Submitting ComicsPlease do not send us scans of potential pressing candidates; an in-person screening is necessary to determine a book's upgrade potential. It is best to simply send these to us directly. There is no need to contact us first. Also, please do not remove CGC graded comics from their holder before shipping to us. We perform our Pro-screens through the holder, and will not open it unless the decision is made to move forward with work. Regarding any items considered for restoration, please e-mail us one scan of the front cover and back cover, preferably at 300 dpi resolution, and no bigger than 1.5 megabytes in size. Based on the scans we will let you know whether the books are good candidates, plus provide a ballpark estimate of cost and how long the job may take. You're also welcome to forward us links to auctions of books you plan to win and send us. If you're considering the restoration removal service for a CGC graded comic book, please contact CGC for their graders' notes, then e-mail us those notes plus the information on the CGC label (grade, extent of restoration, A or P, and any notes CGC printed below the title and issue). Based on this we can determine if removal is possible before you mail it. Each comic submitted to us should be stored in its own bag and board. Comics submitted without backing boards risk damage from either shipping or handling. Comics that are doubled up two or more to a bag will slow down our screening process and CGC's grading. It is also recommended that you leave any tape off of the bags to expedite the screening process. Step 2 of 4: Create a work order online for your submissionWhen you're ready to submit your comics for our services, please log into our system and create a new work order to input the comics. If this is your first time submitting, creating your profile and your work order is easy. For existing clients, your profile will already be in our system, so all you need is your e-mail and password to gain access. If you're forgotten your password, a temporary one can be e-mailed to you. Within a new work order each book and its details must be entered, including the title and issue, its estimated value, the CGC grade (if applicable), the service you choose, and the CGC tier (if the book is to be graded by CGC afterwards). As you choose your services the associated fees will be automatically calculated for you to view. All of this information will be saved in your archive, which can be viewed anytime by logging into your account. Step 3 of 4: Pack and ship your submission to usWhen you're finished, print your work order and mail a copy with your books to the address we provide. Make sure to pack your comics very well to avoid damage in the mail. We suggest wrapping the comics in paper or a plastic bag, and then placing them between pieces of thick cardboard. Place this in a sturdy box and pack paper, bubble wrap, or peanuts all around it. Shake the box afterwards to determine if there is any movement of the pack inside the box. If so, open and stuff in more paper. For the most secure delivery method, we recommend either FedEx or registered mail via Post Office. While FedEx can be more costly, they are quicker and provide a better tracking service. Registered mail through the Post Office, while slower, is cheaper for insuring items and is the most secure form of shipping. If using registered mail, it is a requirement of the post office that all seams on the box are covered with brown tape. Step 4 of 4: Our Pro-screening process, invoicing, and completionAs soon as we receive your package, all books will be checked against your work order, and you'll receive an e-mail confirmation from us that your order have arrived complete. The Pro-screen process takes about 3-5 business days, depending on our workload, the size of your submission, and our show/holiday schedule. The exPress Pro-screens are typically 1-3 days. Once we finish your Pro-screens, you will receive an e-mail containing the results for you to review and approve. After we receive your e-mailed approval, an invoice will be generated, the books' status will change to "in progress" in your work order, and work will commence. All orders are to be paid upon receipt of the invoice, except for restoration jobs exceeding three months. For those, we require 1/2 payment up front and the other 1/2 upon completion. We accept Paypal, Visa/MasterCard, or personal checks. All payments are to be made to "Classics Incorporated." All CGC fees and shipping will be included on your Classics Inc. invoice unless you have your own CGC account (which you can provide in your profile online). When we submit your books though our CGC account, you will receive a 20% discount on CGC fees. We will prepare all forms for your submission at no additional charge. Any rejects will be immediately mailed back to you unless your pressings are being returned to you as well, in which case we'll hold the rejects and ship all of your order at once. If a No screen was chosen, we will immediately generate an invoice once the books are checked in and begin work. All of your invoices and payments can be viewed online in your account at any time. Once your comics finish pressing, they will either ship back to you or directly to CGC if you have chosen to have them graded. The work order status will be marked "shipped" and a copy of your invoice will be e-mailed to you that day. All of our shipments are fully covered by our insurance policy. For comics going directly to CGC, the CGC invoice number(s) will be recorded at the bottom of your Classics Inc. invoice for reference. Once CGC finishes grading your comics, they will be shipped directly back to you. If your CGC order is submitted through our CGC account, you will not be able to access it on CGC's online tracking system; you must contact them by phone with any questions. If you have any questions concerning the submission process, please e-mail or call us.
